Green Future Hub at PLANTARIUM|GROEN-Direkt to focus on developments in the sector

Green Future Hub at PLANTARIUM|GROEN-Direkt to focus on developments in the sector

Low Peat key theme of next spring edition

A new item at the PLANTARIUM|GROEN-Direkt fairs will be the Green Future Hub. “This is the place where we will be paying attention to the future and developments in our sector at every edition of our fair – developments of importance for both the growers and the retail chain,” says fair manager Marjolein Wieckardt. The key theme at the Green Future Hub during the next spring edition will be Veenarm/Low Peat. Will borders be closing for products that are not grown without the use of peat? Will peat-free production have an impact on product quality and prices? The Green Future Hub will serve as a platform for discussions of such questions with experts during the spring edition of PLANTARIUM|GROEN-Direkt on 6 and 7 February.

Marjolein Wieckardt: “Focusing on the Low Peat theme, Anthos and Delphy will be sharing their knowledge of the relevant national and international rules and regulations and explaining possibilities of cultivation in low-peat substrates, of course surrounded by products of our exhibitors who have already gained experience with low-peat and peat-free cultivation.” Visitors and exhibitors will be able to visit the Green Future Hub on both fair days. From 12:30 until 1.30 p.m. the specialists will be talking to one another and the public during the walk-in question sessions. So this will be an ideal opportunity for growers, wholesalers and retailers to obtain information on the impact of peat-free and low-peat nursery products on cultivation and trade.

Green publishers

The two green magazine publishers NWST and Hortipoint will also be represented at the Green Future Hub. Podcasts focusing on Low Peat will be recorded in NWST’s Groene Keet (Green Barn) while Hortipoint will be assessing exhibitors’ and visitors’ knowledge of the theme. The editors will of course be using all the input to write articles that will be published both online and in the magazines concerned.
