SunPatiens® featuring at Hortivation, Hall 13 the Family Garden

SunPatiens® featuring at Hortivation, Hall 13 the Family Garden

Sakata Ornamentals takes part in the new Hortivation experience the ‘Family Garden’. Time efficiency and sustainability will form the central theme of this innovation show. Impatiens SunPatiens® will feature in this hotspot located in Hall 13 and fits the theme perfectly as these remarkable plants represent a breeding breakthrough: they thrive in full sun or part shade and deliver continuous colour from spring, all through summer and right up to the first harsh frosts of winter. Unaffected by Downey Mildew, SunPatiens® are an excellent alternative to other summer bedding plants, offering non-stop colour and robust coverage in full sun or semi-shaded areas! Water is all you need for a non-stop display.

Landscapers love SunPatiens® too. Besides their excellent performance they are easy to grow, easy to plant, economical and low maintenance in use and also contribute to a healthy environment. Research has showed that SunPatiens® absorbs nitrogen dioxide 3 till 4 times better than the average plants, planting SunPatiens® can therefore have air purification benefits. Research also demonstrates their cooling effect of the surface with an average of around 3.0–4.5 Co, a beautiful tool to combat urban heating.

And last but not least; did you know that for every SunPatiens® sold, Sakata gives back to their roots in Indonesia?

SunPatiens® offered by Sakata Seed Corporation was developed in line with the principles of Convention of Biological Diversity (CBD), in collaboration with the Indonesian Agency for Agricultural Research and Development (IAARD) for access to its native resources. SunPatiens® uses the breeding material of Indonesia’s native species of Impatiens. SunPatiens® has grown to be recognized worldwide as one of the best performing flowering annuals in its category, especially in Japan, Europe and North and South America. Part of the revenue generated from sales of the product is being allocated based on the agreement for Access and Benefit-Sharing for utilization of genetic resources. Sakata pays a share of the SunPatiens® royalty proceeds to the Indonesian government and, in addition, performs technology transfer as a non-monetary benefit sharing. Growing, selling or buying SunPatiens® means that you are giving back to nature.

Sakata Ornamentals welcomes you to the Yokohama Café during IPM 2018

Sakata Ornamentals welcomes you to the Yokohama Café during IPM 2018

Sakata Ornamentals is a familiar face at IPM Essen. For the last six years, our stand in Hall 1 has been a welcome stopping-by point, not only for our distributor customers but also for growers, traders, retail and press friends from around the globe. This year our EMEA team will be ready to welcome you again to the IPM, and we are excited, because we have big news!

From 23 till 26th of January, you can find us again in Hall 1, but this year just one step further down the aisle to stand 1C36 where we have a larger spot! With an additional 33 m2 of space we can comfortably accommodate all the guests visiting our new stand; Yokohama Café.

The name Yokohama Café is familiar to our FlowerTrials visitors, as this has been the theme for Sakata’s meeting point for several years now. A comfortable corner to sit, chat and learn more from our product- and sales managers. Expanded and enlarged, the Yokohama Café will now be The Place to Meet Sakata at IPM!

We will showcase selected Sakata highlights, including of course the the revolutionary 3-season garden performer Impatiens SunPatiens®, and no Sakata stand would be complete without a glorious display of Lisianthus. Tip for this year: set your camera to ‘selfie stand’, our Rosita Flower Wall will be the perfect background for your best selfie ever!

Aside from the floral highlights, good coffee and inspiring conversation, in true Café style there will be some great Sakata memorabilia on the walls. We hope you are as enthused as we are and we look forward to your visit. Please do not hesitate to contact your sales representative for more information.

Company profile

As an independent breeder of premium bedding plants, pot crops and cut flowers, Sakata has over one hundred years of experience in developing quality genetics for commercial growers and gardeners.

Earlier innovations, like the world’s first F1 hybrid pansy introduced in 1966, have become industry standards – and their genetics are still to be found in today’s leading series. This history also means that we have the breeding experience and the creativity to create the breakthroughs of today and the classics of tomorrow, such as Candy Showers, the first-ever trailing Antirrhinum from seed.

While consumer satisfaction will always be a critical consideration, we listen to distributors, growers and retailers so we can deliver products, technical information and marketing support to meet the needs of the complete market chain. We strive to offer our customers service that is second to none. Our team offers sales, product management and marketing expertise to help you grow your business with Sakata products. Ultimately, all that we do reflects our commitment to Quality, Reliability and Service.
