Sercom is an important supplier of computer systems for the climate control of storage rooms for flowers, potatoes and vegetables, as well as for greenhouses and open field production. They also supply fertilizer dosing systems.
Each part of their systems is manufactured by themselves and all software is written in-house. Sercom is the first to apply and adapt a well-known technology to extend the possibility of long distance communication, in real-time and they are using the IPM in Essen to publicly launch this ground-breaking development on an international level.
The new two-way communication system, Wireless Xtender makes it possible to communicate between the main computer and up to 16 substations, over a distance of up to 5 kilometers. This will eliminate the need for wiring and increases the flexibility and possibilities of the grower. Also, it will offer many possibilities for controlling irrigation systems at open field productions.
Sercom’s experts will be available at our booth 3A50 to further explain the advantages of this system and to answer all of your questions.
