Company profile

Wepot, an expanding enterprise founded in 2019 at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, has renewed the ancient irrigation method known as
« Ollas ».

Committed to enhance a circular, local, and socially responsible economy, Wepot's mission centers around simplifying irrigation with a profound
ecological impact.

Since its beggining, Wepot has experienced remarkable growth, doubling production annually to achieve a milestone of 25,000 units sold by 2023.

Initially starting production in workshops supporting individuals withphysical and/or mental disabilities, the company shifted to a garage in 2020
due to the closure of workshops amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

In 2021, Wepot expanded further, establishing its first 35m2 premises beforerelocating to the historic 20th-century Swiss ceramics factory, spanning over
600 square meters and dedicated to producing their innovative products with passion.

The olla, a technique dating back 4000 years in Latin America, North Africa, and Asia, has been revitalized by Wepot to address water conservation in arid environments. In Europe, this jar concept remains relatively unknown.

The Ollas optimize plant irrigation, achieving water savings of up to 70% and simplifying the care of plants for enthusiasts.

The method is straightforward: plant the jar near the plants, fill it with water, and let capillary action distribute water slowly, allowing plants to self-water
based on their needs.

The benefits are plurials, including substantial water savings, up to 10 days of autonomy, enhanced plant growth, and the prevention of water stress.

Scientific experiments revealed a doubling of vegetable yield and a x1.5 increase in average size when using ollas in comparison to conventional
watering methods.

Wepot currently offers five olla references suitable for watering everything from indoor pots to outdoor vegetable gardens.
