The trade visitors will find topical and relevant sectoral subjects in a concentrated form in Hall 1A in the Green City.
Since 2008, the latest plant innovations have been exhibited and honoured in the Innovation Showcase at IPM ESSEN. All the plant exhibitors at IPM ESSEN will have the possibility of presenting their innovations in Hall 1A.
"Innovations" in the terms of the exhibition regulations will include new breeds and new wild and growth forms which have not been known until now and have not been exhibited at any other German fair. The exhibited plants will be assessed by a knowledgeable jury on the day before the opening. The most attractive plant in each category from the ranges of "Flowering and Green House Plants", "Spring-Flowering Plants", "Bedding and Balcony Plants", "Cut Flowers", "Bushes and Shrubs", "Woody Plants" as well as "Tub Plants" will be chosen as the "IPM Innovation 2017" and will be presented in Hall 1A on the opening day.
The IPM Innovation Showcase will be jointly staged by Zentralverband Gartenbau e. V. (ZVG - "Central Horticultural Association") and Messe Essen GmbH.
At IPM ESSEN 2017, the Central Horticultural Association (ZVG), ideal sponsor of IPM ESSEN, as well as the co-organiser the North Rhine-Westphalia State Horticultural Association will once again present their comprehensive spectrum of services in the Horticulture Info Center in the Green City in Hall 1A and will be available to answer the questions of the member companies. Not only the professional associations but also institutions from the fields of advice, science and research as well as training and ongoing education will be represented.
The teaching show which will be characterised by cultivation control in ornamental plant cultivation will certainly be a hotspot of the Horticulture Info Center once again. Under the motto of "LED, Iodine, Plasma, … - Cultivation Control Today", research establishments from all over Germany will present their latest results about the main focal points of light and growth regulation. IPM ESSEN will thus permit easy access to the newest scientific findings which gardeners can use for their own plant production.
Furthermore, the "hortigate" info system in the Horticulture Info Center will show the new "MyBusiness" module which ornamental plant cultivation businesses can use in order to plan their plant protection measures and to document them in conformity with GlobalGAP.

The ideas for modern sales stories will be played through using shop window designing techniques as well as point of sale displays. As the star guest, Wally Klett, Germany's queen of wedding floristry, will introduce the design trends of the coming season. Therefore, IPM ESSEN will also be worthwhile for event and wedding planners in order to gain an insight into the floral trends of the coming season.
Under the motto of "Floral Living - Living and Presenting in the Workshop Look", the BLOOM's special show will offer fresh ideas for florists to be taken over into their own box of ideas immediately.
The workshop-like presentation areas will take up subjects close to practice and will invite visitors to transfer the concepts presented in situ to their own specialised businesses. The special show will be flanked by a presentation of strong-selling ranges for floristic event and shop presentations: From fantastic plant ideas via enthralling floristry right up to trendy products, the entire range of the green sector will await the trade visitor. It will be possible to pick up and try out floral designing techniques in a relaxed workshop atmosphere. Here, florists will be offered the one-off possibilities of refining their knowledge and abilities and standing out from the competition in this way - raising turnover to a noticeable extent by gaining know-how.
