IPM Novelties Show

IPM ESSEN:
		Neuheitenschaufenster-Pflanzen

Since 2008, the latest plant innovations have been exhibited and honoured in the IPM Novelties Show at IPM ESSEN. All the plant exhibitors at IPM ESSEN will have the possibility of presenting their innovations in Hall 1A.

"Innovations" in the terms of the exhibition regulations will include new breeds and new wild and growth forms which have not been known until now and have not been exhibited at any other German fair. The exhibited plants will be assessed by a knowledgeable jury on the day before the opening. The most attractive plant in each category from the ranges of "Flowering and Green House Plants", "Spring-Flowering Plants", "Bedding and Balcony Plants", "Cut Flowers", "Bushes and Shrubs", "Woody Plants" as well as "Tub Plants" will be chosen as the "IPM Innovation 2019" and will be presented in Hall 1A on the opening day.

The IPM Novelties Show will be jointly staged by Zentralverband Gartenbau e. V. (ZVG - "Central Horticultural Association") and Messe Essen GmbH.

IPM ESSEN:
		Point-of-Sale

The "Gardeners can do it" educational show in Hall 1A will present relevant topics on the conservation of resources and sustainable production.

For many years, horticultural businesses have been caught between the conflicting demands of numerous requirements to meet environmental policy objectives and their own demands for the production of natural products from the point of view of resource conservation and sustainability - for economic, but also increasingly for ecological reasons. The educational show "Gardeners can do it!" at IPM ESSEN 2023 will present a number of starting points and bases for discussion on this topic and the possibilities that horticulture is already using or will use.

Other main topics of the educational show of the Horticulture Infocentre:

  • Conserving resources: Energy, water, nutrients, ...
  • Sensor-supported crop management: creating production security and saving resources
  • "Keeping the balance - using nutrients effectively!
  • Sustainable phosphorus fertilisation/secondary phosphates
  • Plastic avoidance and recycling
  • CO2 balance of ornamental plants
  • Plants as carbon reservoirs
  • Substrate materials as a source of CO2
  • TerZ - Use of peat-reduced substrates in ornamental plant cultivation

BLOOM's Trends 2023

Product innovations from plants to lifestyle accessories

Event floristry for weddings

  • Master florist students from Stuttgart-Hohenheim show creative floral implementations for one of the most important events, the wedding. The ideas range from floral table decorations in the currently fashionable style, to many bridal bouquet ideas, to wedding bows based on practical and predominantly sustainable plug-in bases. Trade visitors will find a multitude of ideas for their own wedding business.

Natural funeral floristry

  • How the demand for environmentally friendly, natural and sustainably designed funeral floristry can be realised in practice is presented in the exhibition area "Contemporary Funeral Floristry" - ideas for florists, cemetery gardeners and all professionals involved in the business of death and mourning.

Creative workshops to join in

  • Take part in the workshops that take place several times a day. A great offer especially for young fair visitors! Under the guidance of BLOOM's florist Doreen Neumann, workpieces will be created in half-hour workshops that can be taken home. Registration for this is possible directly at the BLOOM's stand.

The flowering relax & talk area

  • Short lectures and presentations by master florist Klaus Wagener and the BLOOM's team on topics such as mega trends, Pure Style, New Ikebana in connection with floristic techniques and much more will provide an informative and entertaining side programme. BLOOM's new service for the green sector, the Green Web, will also be presented. A variety of nature workshop works will also be presented.
