Parking tickets

In the course of comprehensive modernising measures, MESSE ESSEN GmbH has added new parking technology to the car parks around the fair site. Each multi-storey car park and each car parking area now features automated barrier systems with modern scanners for the appropriate ticket formats.

What does the reorganisation mean for exhibitors?

Exhibitors will be able to buy parking tickets online in advance. The online shop will be integrated into the Closed Exhibitor Area , so that you can also order parking tickets there by using your access data which you have already received or will receive shortly.

FAQs - Exhibitor passes

Will the exhibitor passes be sent to me automatically?

No, you order your desired number of exhibitor passes in the online shop and can download them directly after ordering or send them to your colleagues by e-mail.

How do I order exhibitor passes?

We will send you access data to the closed exhibitor area by e-mail. Similar to the parking ticket shop, you can order exhibitor passes for your stand personnel and invitation codes for your customers here.

Simply select the desired number. After ordering, you can personalise your exhibitor passes, download them or send them to your colleagues. Repeat orders are possible at any time.

Depending on the size of your stand, a contingent of free exhibitor season passes is available to you as main exhibitor. The exact number will be displayed in the closed exhibitor area.

After the trade fair, you will be invoiced for the exhibitor passes that you have used to enter the fair and that exceed your free quota.

Where can I get the exhibitor passes?

You can print out your exhibitor passes directly or send them to your colleagues by e-mail. You can order and print tickets at the Service Center in Hall 6. Here you will also receive a badge case with lanyard for your exhibitor pass.

What happens if my staff changes?

Only the passes that have entered the fair will be charged. If your colleague does not enter, his exhibitor pass expires. You can order replacements at any time in the online shop - even during setup and running time - at the Service Center in Hall 6.

What if I don't know the name of my staff yet?

You can simply leave the "First name" and "Last name" fields blank. Please note, however, that the exhibitor pass is only valid for public transport when it is personalized.

How do I get to the online shop?

Can I cancel exhibitor passes free of charge?

Cancellation is not necessary, as you can simply let those passes expire that you do not need. You will only be charged for the badges you use to enter the fair.

Can I still change the exhibitor passes (on site) and if so, where?

You can change the name on your exhibitor pass or order a new one (at the Service Center in Hall 6). Please note, however, that the QR code for access remains the same in the event of a change. You cannot access the same QR code more than once at the same time.

Can I upload my stand personnel at once?

Under your order overview you will find an Excel template titled "Download current orders (XLS)". Here you can copy in your stand personnel. Then use the "XLS/CSV Import" button to upload your saved template. You can then send or download the tickets collectively or individually.

What do I have to pay?

Depending on the size of your stand, a contingent of free exhibitor season tickets is available to you as the main exhibitor. The exact number will be displayed in the GAB.

After the trade fair, you will be invoiced for the exhibitor passes that you have used to enter the fair and that exceed your free quota.

What do exhibitor passes cost?

Exhibitor passes can be purchased there for €34.00 each (incl. VAT) and exhibitor day passes can be purchased for €18.00 (incl. VAT).

How many exhibitor passes are available to me free of charge?

The number of your free exhibitor season tickets is displayed in the online shop in the closed exhibitor area.

What happens if I lose my exhibitor pass?

If you have not yet entered the exhibition grounds with your pass, you can simply reprint it. If it has already been redeemed, we recommend that you have your exhibitor pass blocked in order to prevent misuse. In this case, please contact either our service team in the Service Center Mitte in Hall 6 or our hotline:

What happens if I forget my exhibitor pass?

You can print out your exhibitor pass again at the Service Center in Hall 6.

Are exhibitor passes also valid as a free ticket for public transport?

On the days of the printed trade fair event, the exhibitor pass entitles the holder to use the buses and trams of the Ruhrbahn in the city of Essen free of charge for direct arrival/departure to/from the trade fair grounds. The ticket is only valid for the holder who is declared by name on this pass.

How do I get my free WiFi code?

You will find a free, individual WiFi code on every exhibitor pass.

Can I exchange my exhibitor badge for a badge on site?

No, but at the Service Center you will receive an envelope including a lanyard for your exhibitor pass free of charge.

Where can I get a badge cover?

At the Service Center in Hall 6.

Are repeat orders possible?

The online shop is open until the end of the event. You can therefore order additional passes at any time.

What do I do with an unused exhibitor pass?

If you have not used a badge, you do not need to do anything else. You will only be charged for exhibitor passes used for admission.

Are exhibitor passes transferable?

Exhibitor passes are not transferable. Please order additional passes via the online shop.

When are exhibitor passes valid?

Exhibitor season tickets are valid for the entire duration of the event. You do not need your exhibitor pass to set up your stand.

Do I need exhibitor passes for the set-up?

No, you only need your exhibitor pass for the duration of the fair.

Does my booth builder need exhibitor passes?

Your booth builder does not need an exhibitor pass to set up and dismantle your stand. He only needs a pass when he is working on your stand during the fair.

Can I also park with my exhibitor pass?

No, please use the parking ticket shop to order parking tickets. The parking ticket shop is also integrated into the closed exhibitor area.

I don't have a printer - what now?

You can also print out your exhibitor passes at the Service Center in Hall 6. To do this, you must log into the closed exhibitor area on site with your access data.

Can I print the exhibitor passes several times?

Each exhibitor pass contains a QR code with an individual access code, which is scanned on admission and then blocked to prevent misuse. This means that you cannot enter the fair simultaneously with more than one person with one ticket printed several times.

Can I also order visitor vouchers for my stand personnel?

No. Exhibitor passes entitle the holder to enter the hall one hour before the start of the fair so that final work can be carried out at the stand or a team meeting held. With a visitor ticket, access is only granted at the start of the fair at 9 a.m. or 10 a.m.. In addition, your staff will only receive a reduced meal in our exhibitor restaurant in Hall 3 with an exhibitor pass.

FAQs - Invitation Codes

How can I invite my customers?

In the closed exhibitor area you can also order online codes to invite your customers.

You can either download these invitation codes as Excel files or send them directly to your customers by e-mail via the online shop. Your customers will then redeem the voucher codes in the online ticket shop for an admission ticket. The invitation code alone is not sufficient to gain access to the trade fair. It must be exchanged online for an admission ticket. Unfortunately, this is not possible on site.

After the fair, you will be invoiced for the invitation codes used to enter the fair.

What do invitation codes cost?

As part of the media lump sum, you will receive 50 online invitation codes to invite your customers free of charge.

Other invitation codes ordered will be charged according to the number of vouchers redeemed:

  • 0 - 50 changed vouchers € 11.76
  • 51 - 250 changed vouchers € 10.92
  • over 250 changed vouchers €10.08

During the ordering process in the online shop, the maximum price for invitation codes will be displayed with 11.76 € (plus VAT). After the event you will then be charged the invitation codes that were redeemed by your customers and used to enter the fair.

Do I have to pay for all invitation codes I have ordered?

No, after the fair you will only be charged for the redeemed invitation codes that were used to enter the fair. Nevertheless, we will show you the total price when you place your order.

The online shop will show you which invitation code was redeemed by whom. However, this does not apply to pre-printed vouchers for day tickets.

What happens if a customer doesn't come?

The voucher code will only be invoiced to you if it has been exchanged for a ticket and this ticket has been used to enter the fair.

How can the customer redeem the voucher code?

Your customer can redeem the invitation code in the online ticket shop. Via e-mail dispatch in the closed exhibitor area, the ticket shop is linked directly at dispatch so that your customer can redeem the voucher code immediately.

Can the code be redeemed at the box office?

No, invitation codes can only be redeemed in the online ticket shop.

Can I still buy paper vouchers?

Paper vouchers can still be ordered using this order form .

Can I still change the exhibitor passes (on site) and if so, where?

Yes, in the online shop you can see who redeemed your invitation codes and entered the trade fair.

This does not apply to paper vouchers.

Do I get an evaluation?

You can download an Excel evaluation directly from the online shop that shows you who redeemed your invitation codes and if and when the codes were used to enter the trade fair.

When do I pay the invitation codes?

The redeemed invitation codes will be invoiced to you together with the other services after the event.
