International Garden Exhibition Metropole Ruhr 2027 becomes not only the next regional large-scale project but also a catalyst for urban transformation, tourism, and the development of open public space, thereby contributing to the region‘s international significance.

To achieve all of this, the IGA 2027 has identified three layers under which it carries out each of the programmatic elements. Those are: My Garden, Our Gardens, and the Future Gardens.My Garden: this is the space for civic engagement, for initiatives that are local or individual in nature but will benefit from the networking approach of the IGA 2027. Our Gardens: These are communal projects from green infrastructure, urban development or tourism that are especially important for the region.

Lastly, the Future Gardens located in Duisburg, Gelsenkirchen and in Dortmund, besides in Castrop-Rauxel and in Lünen. These are the exhibition grounds where the horticulture and landscape industry presents their green potential, where we show innovation, experimentation and where the layer MyGarden and OurGardens come together.

By addressing different target groups and topics, the IGA 2027 wants to be more than a flower show.

The IGA 2027 celebrates our diversity through engaging activities and involvement from everyone.

It marks the transformative potential of our region by promoting green infrastructure and urban development,

and looks into the future, at what is yet to come by focusing on innovation, climate change and sustainable ways for living together.
