Biodiversity is once again the topic at the meeting point in Hall 6 (booth number 6J24) this year. This time, however, it is not only the German Perennial Gardeners' Association (BdS) and the German Tree Nursery Association (BdB) that are presenting their own projects. The Julius-Kühn-Institute will also be presenting the results of its research projects.
- “Staudenwert” (Perennial Value) is the title of the joint study on the attractiveness of perennials to wild bees conducted by the Institute for Bee Protection and the Association of German Perennial Gardeners. With display cases, posters, and films, they provide information about the wild bee species observed in the experiment and their preferred perennials.
- The Julius Kühn Institute's Urban Greenery Working Group will provide information on maximizing carbon sequestration in urban trees with posters, television reports, and an interactive quiz on tree damage. The aim of the study is to develop climate-sensitive design principles for urban development and spatial planning.
