IPM Meeting Point presents three environmental topics
Biodiversity is once again the topic at the Meeting Point in Hall 6 (stand number 6J24) this year. However, this time it is not only the German Perennial Gardeners' Association (BdS) and the German Tree Nursery Association (BdB) presenting their own projects. The Julius Kühn Institute will also be presenting the results of its research projects.
‘Staudenwert’ (Perennial Value) is the title of the joint study on the attractiveness of perennials to wild bees conducted by the Institute for Bee Protection and the Association of German Perennial Gardeners. With display cases, posters and films, they provide information about the wild bee species observed in the experiment and their preferred perennials.
The JKI's Urban Greenery Working Group will provide information on maximising carbon sequestration in urban trees with posters, television reports and an interactive quiz on tree damage. The aim of the study is to develop climate-sensitive design principles for urban development and spatial planning.
The various aspects of research into peat substitutes are presented with images, illustrative material (e.g. tubes with peat substitutes, experimental setups) and films.
