IOT4H2O: Universal data collection with IOT

IOT4H2O: Universal data collection with IOT
Innovation

IoT4H2O® (pronounced "IoT for water") are small, low-cost data acquisition and transmission devices that communicate via LoRaWAN or NB IoT wireless standards and can be equipped with a variety of different sensors.

IoT stands for Internet of Things. IoT data acquisition systems transmit the acquired measured values via radio and make the data available in a data cloud.

The IoT4H2O® devices thus enable both the inexpensive new construction of wireless data acquisition systems and the equipping of existing sensors with wireless data transmission capabilities, thus bringing the company's own data acquisition to a new level. Outdated handheld readers or data loggers without wireless data transmission can be replaced while continuing to use existing sensors. In this way, resources are saved.

The IoT4H2O® devices use the IoT narrow band standards LoRaWAN and NB IoT. These radio standards are characterized by extremely low power consumption, low costs, high range, data security and an unprecedented penetration of obstacles, and are therefore ideally suited to the requirements of data acquisition in agriculture and horticulture and generally in the outdoor area.

Watermark sensor

Watermark sensor

Watermark sensors are used to determine the soil moisture and are particularly recommended when there are longer intervals between individual water applications, i.e. when the soil moisture fluctuates more strongly, such as when using sprinkler machines, when watering outdoor vegetables or for crops that have to be cultivated in dry areas.

The Watermark Sensor can be integrated into many other systems. Data interpretation is simple and transferable from site to site, as the measurement result is output as a suction voltage value. The technology is accurate, durable and has been tried and tested for decades and the cable length can be extended up to 100 metres. In addition, a PVC pipe can be attached for installation to ensure a better installation.

The robust hand-held device with splash-proof control panel and manually adjustable temperature compensation can read any number of Watermark sensors. Based on the manually entered soil temperature, measured values are automatically temperature compensated and shown on the display in centibars.

Irrometer® Tensiometer

Irrometer® Tensiometer

A tensiometer is a device for measuring soil moisture. It shows how strongly the water present in the soil is retained in the soil. Low soil water potential means moist soil, high soil water potential means dry soil. A tensiometer can therefore be used to determine when it is time to irrigate the soil in order to provide plants with optimum care.

Tensiometers from the manufacturer Irrometer® have been in production for over 65 years and meet the highest standards.

Irrometer® tensiometers are equipped with a waterproof stainless steel manometer that provides improved pressure compensation. The tensiometer shaft has an integrated water reservoir, which can replace lost water in the field at any time. The ceramic tip is replaceable. This tensiometer is filled without air, enabling it to respond rapidly to changes in soil water potential.

Irrometer® Tensiometer Model IR-LT features a special "Low Tension" ceramic tip and a high-resolution manometer. Thanks to the ceramic tip's quick response to soil water potential, this model is particularly well-suited for substrate investigations. Additionally, the IR-LT model shares all the key features of the IR series and meets the highest quality standards.

Irrometer® Tensiometer Model IR-MLT is equipped with a special "Low Tension" ceramic tip that responds quickly and sensitively to soil water potential, as well as a precise manometer. This tensiometer is characterized by its compact dimensions and lightweight, allowing measurements even in the smallest containers.

Irrometer® Tensiometer Model IR-E is compatible with a wide range of data acquisition devices and is ideal for integrators and developers. Furthermore, the Irrometer Tensiometers in the IR-E series possess all the proven features of analog Irrometer Tensiometers, including an extremely rapid response to changes in soil water potential and minimal maintenance requirements.

Tensiometer MMM-Tech-Support

Tensiometer MMM-Tech-Support

A tensiometer is a device for measuring soil moisture. It shows how strongly the water present in the soil is retained in the soil. Low soil water potential means moist soil, high soil water potential means dry soil. A tensiometer can therefore be used to determine when it is time to irrigate the soil in order to provide plants with optimum care.

All tensiometers, with the exception of the T1 series, are available with a ceramic tip as well as one made of high-quality aluminium oxide ceramic.

MMM Tensiometers from the T1 series feature a pressure gauge with a self-explanatory color-coding system for quick and easy interpretation of the reading, even by untrained workers. The silicone plug seals smaller dirt particles airtight, making it easy to fill in the field. Version available with pressure gauge readable from the side or from above and equipped with a ceramic tip..

MMM Tensiometers from the T2 series are easy to maintain due to a robust shaft with high water-holding capacity and a always-sealed silicone cap. The new pressure gauge measures up to 1000 hPa, is waterproof, and uses the proven self-explanatory color-coding system for quick and easy interpretation of the reading. Versions with a side or top-reading pressure gauge are available.

MMM Tensiometers from the TX series are innovative, almost maintenance-free tensiometers with an exceptionally fast response to changes in soil water potential, which is read from the top. Tensiometers from the TX series can be completely vented.

MMM Tensiometers from the TXSU series are resettable, highly sensitive, finely resolving tensiometers designed specifically for substrate cultivation. The measuring range is 0 to 250 hPa soil water potential. The pressure gauge features MMM's proven color-coding system, specially adapted for substrates. The shaft length is 15 or 20 cm (custom lengths possible). The unique feature of the TX Substrate Tensiometer is its zero-point correction, eliminating "stuck" pressure gauges.

MMM tensiometers of the TX-E series are TX tensiometers equipped with an electronic pressure transducer that outputs a ratiometric voltage signal. The measuring range is 0 to 1000 hPa soil water potential.
